About this guide
Who's behind Visit Kidepo?
Uganda's remotest park, described using Uganda's own 2026 wildlife report rather than an old brochure.
What this site is
An independent guide to Kidepo. The species list you will find elsewhere is largely copied from a brochure written in 2018; Uganda's own 2026 wildlife report tells a different story, and we follow the report.
How we handle disputed facts
Park fees come from the Uganda Wildlife Authority's own tariff document, not from copied operator pages, and every fees page shows when we last checked it. That matters more at Kidepo than almost anywhere: much of what circulates about this park online traces back to a 2018 brochure, from the payment rules to the wildlife list, and a surprising amount of it is no longer true.
Where the authority is silent, so are we, apart from telling you that it is silent. Nine of the eleven accommodation properties around Kidepo publish no prices at all, so we tell you which two do instead of repeating numbers we cannot stand behind. Wildlife claims follow UWA's own published science, including where it contradicts UWA's older marketing.
